This is an interview with Kathryn Thompson. Award-winning marketing and communications professional with over 15 years of experience. She started her business consultancy firm to assist entrepreneurs in launching their projects and creating engaging content that will appeal to their target audience.
She shared the main challenges entrepreneurs face when creating content. As well as the three primary components that can help them conquer these barriers and meet their target audience to make a bigger impact.
She described the content as the email you send, the Instagram update, as well as Facebook Live and YouTube videos. It may be something to do with how you communicate with your audience or the content you bring out into the world. And content’s three main functions are to drive traffic to your website, increase interaction, and establish trust with your audience.
One of the most common challenges she hears from her clients and audiences is that they don’t know what to say to get the desired results. The second biggest obstacle is that they’re just winging it. And the third is that they don’t have a clear message, which ought to be understandable because that is what drives your content.
Entrepreneurs may express the meaning of what they do through the power of language. For most people, the first major step is to establish a messaging base, plan, or strategy. You should know the differences, at least have a list of people you want to assist, what do you have to say and how are you different. If you have such driving factors in place, such as who you are, what you do, and why you do it differently, the content can be more engaging.
To come up with a clear messaging she always tells people that it’s important to identify with who they are and what they stand for because there’s a lot of information out there. It does matter who you are and what you believe in. So being clear on your mission and connecting with others is important. As a result, you must be linked to your goal, which can be difficult at times. It was meditation for her. It is simply silencing the world, and stepping away from social media and making content because she said that we can go down the rabbit hole looking for inspiration when they’re doing all the other stuff. You must be linked to the larger vision in your business.
The biggest move is to venture out into the world, and the answers will begin to flow. Finding out who you are, what you stand for, and why this is so vital to you is the first step. Once you’re in sync with your core values, you’ll notice that people are attracted to you based on those values, which you can incorporate into your work.
In marketing, consistency is key, but it can mean different things to different people. So, who exactly are you, what makes you special, and why are you doing what you’re doing? Many people are unaware of the importance of positioning, but that is what can set you apart. You should build a plan and schedule once you’ve narrowed down who you represent. You can develop a strategy and schedule then.
